  A lovely pub and certainly family welcoming but they have no childs menu. What? Our 4 and 6 year old were both presented with adult sized portions and charged adult prices. Needless to say that very little of what they were given was eaten entirely. So, our lunch turned out being much more expensive than expected. Good food but don't go unless your kids can eat adult sized portions.

  We had the Sunday roast and my companion chose the roast chicken and I the roast beef. He had half a roast chicken roast potatoes lots of vegetable and it was very nice. I was disappointed with my meal it was pre-sliced beef which was tasteless. As the Dog and Crook is a more upmarket pub/restaurant I was surprised as I expected to have roast beef cut from a piece which would have been far nicer and tastier. The rest of the meal was fine but the most important part was not I was very disappointed. One other point we would have preferred to add the gravy ourselves.

  Fantastic pub, the staff are very friendly and helpful and constantly go the extra mile. The food is generous and lovingly prepaired and the prices are very good!
